OGRE is the last adventure of Maria Joao. A hybrid of Jazz and electronic music. An unusual formation and an out-of-the-ordinary approach transports the listener through the world of sounds, crossing the digital ones with the analog ones.
Maria João is a Portuguese jazz singer known for her vocal ductility and improvisation skills. Although considered a jazz singer, it incorporates folk, avant-garde and electronic music. His main musical partner is the Portuguese pianist Mário Laginha. He has also worked with Aki Takase, Bobby McFerrin, David Linx, Dino Saluzzi, Gilberto Gil Joe Zawinu, Kai Eckhardt, Lenine, Manu Katch, Ralph Towner, Trilok Gurtu, Wolfgang Muthspiel and OGRE.
